Gathering Grounds TCG 4.9(30)

The address on file for Gathering Grounds is 5 Spring St, Portland, ME 04101. The directory files this listing under trading card games. That is a classification applied to the business record, not the result of anyone checking a display case. Its own name or description also points to Magic: The Gathering. There are 5 card shops on file in Portland; this is the second entry in that list. Order on a city page comes from rating shrunk toward the site-wide average by review volume, so a 5.0 from nine reviews does not automatically lead. Statewide, Maine accounts for 92 independent listings spread over 50 cities, plus 7 chain locations. The posted schedule runs 6 days a week, with Monday listed as closed.

Its 4.9-star Google rating rests on 30 reviews, the fourth-largest review count of the 5 rated listings in Portland. The two closest listings to it are Double Steve Cards & Collectibles, under a mile away, and Coast City Comics & The Fun Box Monster Emporium at under a mile. Both a phone number and a website are on file, which puts this listing among the 4 of 5 in Portland that link out to a site of their own. What the directory does not hold is inventory: there is no record here of what is in the case on a given day, which sets are open, or what the shop pays for cards. Call before you drive.
