Evanston Games & Cafe TCG 4.7(228)

The address on file for Evanston Games & Cafe is 1707 Maple Ave, Evanston, IL 60201. The closest other cities with listings are Wilmette, about 2 miles out with 2 shops, and Skokie at roughly 3 miles. The directory files this listing under trading card games. That is a classification applied to the business record, not the result of anyone checking a display case. Its 4.7-star Google rating rests on 228 reviews, the first-largest review count of the 2 rated listings in Evanston. The two closest listings to it are Heroines and Heroes, 1 mile away, and Bleachers Sports Music and Framing in Wilmette at 2 miles.

The record carries a phone number and a website, so there are two ways to check something before setting out. Statewide, Illinois accounts for 249 independent listings spread over 139 cities, plus 67 chain locations. Evanston holds 2 listings here — 2 independent shops — and this one appears second on that page. Order on a city page comes from rating shrunk toward the site-wide average by review volume, so a 5.0 from nine reviews does not automatically lead. The posted schedule runs 6 days a week, with Monday listed as closed. What the directory does not hold is inventory: there is no record here of what is in the case on a given day, which sets are open, or what the shop pays for cards. Call before you drive.
