The nearest other cities with shops on file are Vestavia Hills (2 shops, about 3 miles), Hoover (3 shops, about 8 miles), and Leeds (1 shop, about 14 miles). Websites are patchier than phone numbers here — 7 of 10 have one on file — and a blank field means the source record had nothing, not that the shop lacks one.

Ratings exist for 7 of these 10 shops; weighting each rating by how many reviews stand behind it puts Magic City Collectibles first, on 4.9 stars across 55 reviews. That makes Birmingham the first-largest concentration of independent shops among Alabama's 42 cities with one. Statewide, Alabama has 64 independent listings across 42 cities, plus 33 chain locations listed separately. Stock, buy prices and event schedules are outside what this directory tracks, so call ahead for anything specific. The shop-finding guide and the starter guide cover the questions worth asking.
